The Dressing that everybody thinks of as Caprese Salad Dressing is a balsamic glaze, also known as balsamic reduction. Caprese is truly a magical and perfect combination of flavors, textures, and freshness: ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and some kind of drizzle of either olive oil or balsamic…or both.

- Drizzle Olive Oil all over the Tomatoes and Cheese. Drizzle Balsamic Vinegar Glaze, as well, if using.
- Enjoy!
Although balsamic vinegar in any form isn't used in a classic Italian caprese, I'd argue balsamic glaze more than deserves its place in this salad. When cooked down to a thick, syrupy glaze, balsamic vinegar becomes deliciously tangy and sweet, adding extra oomph to every bite. The wonderful flavours of the Mediterranean are blended together in this salad. Ripe tomatoes are tossed with mozzarella, red onion, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and fresh basil. The perfect Italian starter or side dish.
